Wag The Dog

For anyone who has not watched the movie titled "Wag the Dog", I highly recommend watching it, and to revisit it if you have already seen it once.

It is a 1997 production that stars the likes of Robert Deniro, Dustin Hoffman, Anne Hence, and William H. Macy and tells the story of how a political spin doctor can manage to convince a nation and the world to divert its attention away from the internal affairs of the President of the United States to a fictional war that was created for that purpose.

Watching it.....one would wonder greatly about the modern day situation.....

Since the beginning of 9/11.....I have often wondered....why has the mastermind of the attack, an Osama bin Laden often been referred to as "Bin Laden" like as if that was his last name as how they would refer John Smith as Mr Smith..... "Bin" as we know means "son of". Why would anyone put "Son of Laden" as a last name? Doesn't make sense. EVEN if they did......then how come the Americans don't refer to other muslims with the "Bin" as part of their last name.....example:

Yasser Arafat being addressed as "Bin Arafat"

Mahathir Mohamad as "Bin Mohamad"

Muhammad Ali as "Bin Ali"

Next......try do an internet search on Osama bin Laden.....

It's amusing to know that every single search engine and news agency seem to know almost EVERYTHING about his past, albeit some inconsistency but we can put it off as reporter's standard deviation. But they seem to know his shaky past, his affiliation with certain ties of Islamic radicals. The convenient death of influential people surrounding him. And then.....NOTHING.....

Until a plane hits the twin towers......

And with all the electronic surveillance they have.....and with banking going electronic.....Here is a man who is purportedly shifting millions of dollars to fund militant activities and the Americans couldn't pick up a money trail......despite so many "attacks".......yet they can trace hackers down to their homes.....they can trace the location of people on cellphones and they can trace who siphoned money months ago which resulted in bank collapse..... 

Oh well...... as the movie says..... If the tail is smarter than the dog....
