Hence heroicly I was walking along the outer corridors of the office to hunt for coffee (yummy) and upon crossing the carpark entrance, i heard a loud shriek and a lady covered in head scarf whose banshee voice screaming out loud "OH BABI!!!!"
Apparently her colleague had playfully charged at her on a motorbike and stopped inches away from her..... Ok so nothing great for an action movie.....
But i was amused by her sudden loud swear of Oh Babi....which loosely translates to Oh Pig... Or Oh Swine......etc etc....
Swearing is no longer taboo..... And most of us swear out loud while some of the better people out there swear under their breath..... But for the most of us who swear, especially those on a regular basis we tend to have a limited chosen vocabulary that we instinctively rely on.
Take for example when we walk.....and suddenly we stepped on dog poo....
Most of us will just let out the obvious "oh shit...."
Some of us, the more angry ones would say "oh fu#k"
Some chinese whose love for the anatomy may swear "chee b@i"
And of course not forgetting those who would just say "oh babi...."
Now....we live in a melting pot society so I do expect a motley crue of colourful swears.... But this demure muslim lady however chooses to swear by the very animal that the religion abhors.....
