Today I celebrate a double joyful event.
The birth of Baby Arianne....my good friend's 1st daughter @ 1248 hours, and
The birth of Crumbs, a pilot project by Chef Basirah Yeusoff @ 1530 hours.
Located at 10, Lorong Ara Kiri Dua, Lucky Gardens, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur..... this little half shop cozy cafe shares the same
foursquare postcode as many eateries in Lucky Gardens and is the passionate project of Chef Basirah that conceptualize long ago and started to take form over the past 2 months.
Driving in the enclave of Lorong Ara Kiri Dua culinary hotspots, Crumbs was easily missed as the signboard has not been installed yet and it is dwarfed between Ipoh White Coffee and Klinik Chong dan Rakan-Rakan and one would have mistaken Secret Recipe to be the place to go for cakes and etc....
However, by the end of my evening.... Crumbs became a place I will never forget.

Soft Opening.... (half opening)
The full swing will be on the 15th October
So mark your calendars y'all.... |

Whether its giving directions in the kitchen...
Or directions to her cafe... Basirah's got it all under control |

Housed in a half shop that was previously a laundromat, I had the privilege of seeing it before work was started and the end result was nothing short of amazing considering the time and investment spent on Crumbs. Kudos to YNOT Consultants for amazing workmanship, taste, and design, who improved on the idea by Chef Basirah..

At 3.30pm....the party started....
Crumbs was nothing short of amazing when it came to telling its story through it food, and ambiance. The selection was a preview of things to come, which included roast beef and cheddar panini, smoked chicken ham and cheese sandwich, pecan pie, pumpkin carrot cake, baby lime cake, brownies, spiced chocolate cupcakes, wild mushroom quiche, salmon asparagus quiche, pepperoni & gruyere tart....
 |
Lime....lots of it was used for the Baby Lime Cake
Which was so good coz it was complemented by a
cream cheese topping.....Cakes went out so fast I couldn't get seconds
and was not in time to snap a picture of it either.... |
 |
Ham (chicken) & Eggs Sandwich
Each bite is satisfaction with well buttered loaf sandwiching
a generous helping of eggs and smoked ham |
 |
Pumpkin Carrot cake for the weightwatchers...
Then again if you're watching your weight then better
stay away from the cream cheese topping but you may keep
the pecans as a consolation.
(But you'll be missing out one sensational gastronomical affair) |
 |
Superb tower of brownies...not too sweet and compensated by
a dust of icing sugar to complement a wholesome serving
of compact chocolate reincarnated into a brownie
(Swear to you it feels like if you melt it with some butter it'll be
chocolate fudge all over again) |
 |
Pepperoni should never be confined to just pizza..
Give this a chance....you may convert yourself into a non pizza believer |
 |
My personal favourite...roast beef cheddar panini...
Beef so tender and cheese so generous...
Writing about it makes my mouth water all over again...
Check out the pinkish center of the medium well done beef..
And the melted cheddar.....MMmmmmmm
Ack gotta stop writing about it *drip *drip *drip |

Chef Basirah and her family and relatives....
Behind this chef is definitely one very strong family.... |

Wanna know where all the baby lime cakes went?
Give you a hint (notice the two cake holders....)
Nothing sums up good food better than being caught with
2 helpings in one hand... ;) |
