Welcome To My World

As I sit in exile in my former hospital.....at the waiting hall as my wife is tended to for the final moments of her pregnancy.... I reflect upon certain observations during the past 8 1/2 months.

One of the first few things my best friend told me was how he noted a change in his wife's eating habits. Mind you, it is not the cravings but actual change in habits.....and upon retrospective review, he said whatever the cravings she had were actually the very same food that his son likes.....crazy? but true.....

So on my own account, I was somewhat blessed that there were no weird cravings. No midnight or early morning unreasonable binges.....No rambutans at 2am. No eggs in coffee concoctions......it was.....peaceful. By midway there were definite changes of eating habits......Beef being a necessity became a rarity. Chicken that was a rarity became a delicacy. Chewy candy was phased out and replaced with chocolates. Cheesecakes are more common. Butter cookies were introduced lately. Tom yum was hardly seen. Hehe.. seems to me this is more of my kind of diet and not my wife's........Household has a 2 - 1 vote on food stuff already...I loike....

The fad of putting earphones on mother's tummy and playing classical music to stimulate the foetus's mind and perhaps intelligence.....??? I dunno.....why blast music into an unborn and precipitate hearing loss I say. But what I do notice is that the little one seems to like rock music and dance music. Minimal jazz. And definitely not classical. This is music at low decibels to an adult ear and already he moves extra hard in the womb. I literally mean physical movements can be seen externally. It's like as if he is dancing inside..... Chalk one up for him for being  dancer......I can't dance to safe my life!!!! I move like I have two left feet and fitted in opposite directions.....

Little dude is nocturnal!!! Good thing so am I so it won't disrupt my sleeping pattern much.....i hope. Every night between 10 to 11pm would be the final dance before a relatively quiet night until 5 to 6am. Keep it up and he and me will have a wonderful understanding......

Vanity.......my wife has always been a simple dresser. Not one to be flashy and definitely not tacky. But during the pregnancy there were hints of increased vanity......Gonna have to control that Reggie Mantel in him soon haha....

Beyond that I have no other clue......as I said, these are the observation of changes seen in the mother....

Perhaps will refer to this entry someday.....2 or 3 years later to prove or disprove this theory. But nevertheless an interesting theory.

hence I wonder......"Welcome To My World"...... is it from me to baby? or is it baby to me?

5 more hours to go.....
